Our history
MANS Consultancy arose out of the Stichting Management en Arbeid Nieuwe Stijl (Foundation for new-style management and labor). This was an association of profit and not‑for‑profit organizations founded in 1983 by twelve entrepreneurs, with the aim of disseminating the concepts of W. Deming from the USA and J. Juran from Japan among the Dutch business community. The MANS foundation advocated a new management approach in both profit and not‑for‑profit organizations. This new approach is characterized by a listening, coaching and encouraging attitude to staff, in contrast to the customary attitude of instructing and checking.
In 1993 the MANS Foundation changed into MANS Consultancy, which took over the role of the original association towards the more than a hundred member organizations. The aim of this network at the time was mutual exchange of knowledge in the field of Total Quality Management/Integrated Quality Assurance. Since then, this network has changed into the Open Mind Network
